Robert Louis Stevenson

Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894) fue un novelista, un poeta y un ensayista escocés. Fue el único hijo del constructor de faro Harold Stevenson y Margaret Isabella Balfour, ambos eran presbiterianos. Fue bautizado como Robert Lawes Balfour , pero a los 20 años se cambió el nombre a la versión francesa Louis. Todos los miembros de su familia paterna fueron ingenieros y constructores de faros.

PRINCIPALES OBRAS

Escribió varias novelas como “El extraño caso del doctor Jekyll y el señor Hyde”, o “El príncipe Otón”, aunque su obra más famosa es “La isla del tesoro”.

Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894) was a Scottish novelist, poet and essayist. He was the only child of the lighthouse’s builder Harold Stevenson and Margaret Isabella Balfour, they were presbyterian. Robert was baptised as Robert Lawes Balfour, but when he was 20 years old he changed his name for the French version, Louis. All members of his family were engineers and lighthouse’s builders.

MAIN WORKS

He wrote some novels such as “Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde”, or “Prince Otto”, but his more famous novel was “Treasure Island”.

Día Internacional del Libro/World Book Day

Con motivo del Día Internacional del Libro hemos tenido diferentes actividades en nuestro instituto a lo largo de esta semana.

Todos nuestros grupos han visitado la Feria del Libro instalada en nuestro municipio, con descuentos para adquirir ejemplares gracias a la colaboración del AMPA, del Ayuntamiento y del propio centro, etc.

On the occasion of the World Book Day we have had different activities in our school during the week.

All our groups have visited the Book Fair settled in our town, with discounts to buy books thanks to the colaboration of the Parents’ Association, the Town Hall, the school, etc.

ROMANCES/BALLADS

Nos gustaría compartir unos trabajos realizados por nuestros alumnos de 3º de ESO A y B. Se trata de unos preciosos romances escritos por ellos. A continuación, ponemos un ejemplo de romance en español, realizado por Alexia Molina (3º A), y en inglés por Allysia Welch (3º B).

We would like to share some of the projects carried out by our students of the 3^rd year of Compulsory Secondary Education. They are some beautiful ballads written by themselves. Here you have an example of ballad in Spanish written by Alexia Molina (3 A), and in English by Allysia Welch (3 B).
